SQL Profiler

What is SQL Profiler?
SQL Profiler is a graphical user interface (GUI) software tool in Microsoft SQL Server Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). It monitors, analyzes, fixes and adjusts SQL databases and their environment.
Database monitoring, arguably the most widely used and important RDBMS function, is performed by generating custom monitoring instances of specific sections of the database, also known as trace logs. This term is also known as the SQL Server Profiler.

SQL Profiler can be used to collect data for real-time or future review. Traces can also be scheduled at specific times. For example, to compare performance when the database is busy or idle, you can set up a trace in the morning at 10 a.m. when the database is most busy, and another configuration at 2 a.m. when little or no database there is activity.
