With advanced training, however, the graduate can also obtain a university entrance qualification and then start studying. The prerequisite for this is that the degree is equated with the master’s degree.
The advanced training is usually carried out part-time and lasts up to 3 years. Many courses also offer the option of completing the advanced training full-time. Most employers support their employees with advanced training. Ultimately, employers also benefit from well-trained specialist staff who are to be tied to the company in the long term.
Financing options for advanced training
In addition to the support from the employer, there are other lucrative opportunities for advancement training. Because advanced training is very expensive, the costs are several thousand euros. Graduates have the opportunity to apply for the so-called Aufstiegs-Bafög. In the Advancement Training Assistance Act, the principle is that everyone is to be granted the right to further professional development if they do not have sufficient funds available. In order to receive advancement student loans, further conditions must be met.
