What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine refers to the resources, strategies, methods, and installations that help doctors or other healthcare professionals remotely sort, diagnose, and treat patients.

With great advances in technology such as wireless networking and cloud computing, data storage efficiency, complexity of electronic medical records software, telemedicine is becoming more and more of a realistic aspect of modern medicine.
In telemedicine, doctors, nurses or technicians can consult patients via video conferencing. You can operate surgical equipment or other robotic devices from a remote location.

You can dictate or send test results from a home office. What they all have in common is that the concept of telemedicine enables versatile medical care and medical work on a virtual level, i.e. over a physical distance.

Part of the concept of telemedicine is that doctors can use it to better serve rural communities where doctor's offices are scarce. Experts suggest that elements of the Affordable Care Act and health reform would encourage the use of telemedicine in the future to introduce efficiency in modern health care.
