Legal labeling requirement

Legal labeling was created to protect consumers. They are mainly found in the textile and food industries. In the case of textiles, the Textile Labeling Act, which came into force on September 1st, 1974, must indicate the type of fiber processed and the proportion of fibers it contains (e.g. cotton 80 %, polyester 20 %). According to the Food Labeling Ordinance of 1982, foodstuffs must contain the sales description (e.g. honey), details of the manufacturer, list of ingredients, best-before date and quantity information on the label of packaged food.
