Service companies

In contrast to companies that manufacture material goods (e.g. industry), service companies are companies that sell material goods or offer and sell services such as 'insuring, giving credit'. The economic activity of service companies extends more to services to be provided by people. The service companies include trading companies as well as banks, insurance companies, companies in the transport and communications sector, public administration and the liberal professions (e.g. doctors, lawyers).
