Production factor planning

Production factor planning is resource planning within the production planning system. The strategic production factor planning as part of the long-term oriented strategic planning deals with the definition of the production potential factor stocks and comprises the following sub-planning areas:
Location planning,
⦁ Factory and layout planning,
⦁ Capacity and investment planning,
⦁ maintenance planning,
⦁ Production organizational development planning,
⦁ Production, personnel development and procurement planning,
⦁ Material security planning and
⦁ Energy security planning.

The operative production factor planning is based on the potential factor stocks defined and therefore given in the strategic planning. It is therefore limited to the provision of the consumption factors and includes the following sub-planning areas:

⦁ Planning the consumption factor requirement,
⦁ Planning the procurement of consumption factors,
⦁ Planning of consumption factor storage and
⦁ Planning the use of consumption factors.

The gross tertiary demand for auxiliary and operating materials as well as tools and energy is planned by means of the consumption-related or stochastic determination of demand based on past consumption, which is based on forecasts, without reference to the production program. The determination of the net secondary and tertiary requirements takes into account planned changes in inventory. An in-house production and third-party procurement decision (make-or-buy in production) determines whether the net requirement is due to in-house production or
is covered by suppliers.
