Price level stability

A price level is stable if the price level does not change or hardly changes in a certain period of time. According to the definition of the Council of the European Central Bank, price level stability is synonymous with an increase in the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for the euro area of less than two percent compared to the previous year.
