OECD countries

the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) ist eine internationale Organisation, der 30 Mitgliedstaaten angehören (Hinweis auf Beitrittsjahr in Klammern): Die Staaten der Europäischen Union: Belgien (1961), Dänemark (1961), Deutschland (1961), Finnland (1969), Frankreich (1961), Griechenland (1961), Irland (1961), Italien (1961), Luxemburg (1961), Niederlande (1961), Österreich (1961), Portugal (1961), Schweden (1961), Spanien (1961), Vereinigtes Königreich (1961); die wichtigsten westlichen Industriestaaten: Australien (1971), Island (1961), Japan (1964), Kanada (1961), Neuseeland (1973), Norwegen (1961), Schweiz (1961), Slowakische Republik (2000) Tschechische Repulik (1995), Türkei (1961) und die USA (1961).

This means that all the major industrialized countries belong to the organization. Mexico became the first South American country to join the organization in 1994. Hungary, Poland and Korea followed in 1996. Slovakia and Slovenia can be considered as future OECD members.
