Network plan technology - the network plan technology is used as an aid when introducing or relaunching a product, but less so in annual planning. A project is systematically broken down into individual sub-complexes, their time requirements are estimated and the assignment to one another is shown in the form of a network.
First of all, the process planning has to be carried out, i.e. the individual activities of a planning project are determined. Then the time planning takes place; the time required for each activity is estimated here. The aim is to set the earliest and latest start and finish dates for each activity. If these two dates differ, a so-called buffer time (also called slip) is available. The start of the activity can be postponed by this time without having to start the next activity with a time delay.
