It automates the process of master data management, that is, it manages the data from a broader aspect.
Master data management software is mainly used to maintain the integrity of data and to remove duplicate data and data inconsistencies across the data domain. MDM software is integrated into an IT infrastructure and scans master data elements during data creation, processing and storage of resources. It creates a repository of master data and categorizes data (such as people, processes, places, and other categories and related data) according to business norms and goals.
