What is liquid cooling system?
A liquid cooling system is a technique used to keep the temperature of a computer processor low using water as the cooling medium. This cooling mechanism ensures efficient cooling and minimizes the noise caused by higher processor speeds. However, this efficiency comes at a cost because the liquid cooling system is more expensive than a traditional air cooling system and its more complex construction requires proper maintenance.

A liquid cooling system can also be known as a water cooling system.

Higher processor speeds generate more heat and require more efficient cooling, which can be provided by either a liquid cooling system or an air cooling system. The liquid cooling system involves the circulation of water through a small pipe in a heat sink attached to the processor. As the liquid flows through the tube, the heat given off by the processor is transferred to the cooler liquid. The warm liquid can flow through the pipe to a radiator, where the excess heat is released into the ambient air outside the system. The cooled liquid circulates again through the tube to the processor to continue the cooling process.

Water has a higher thermal conductivity than air. Therefore, a water cooling system supports the processor at high temperatures while keeping the system noise low.

Some industry experts predict that water cooling systems will be the next obvious choice for personal computers. They are widely used in modern data centers because of the stringent cooling requirements that are required in these data centers.
