The term geosoftware encompasses programs for the visualization and analysis of data with spatial reference in digital maps. One also speaks of business mapping (simple entry-level solutions) and geographical information systems (complex high-end solutions).
In sales, geosoftware is mainly used in two areas:
Area planning and area optimization: The question of the optimal and fair distribution of sales areas to the individual employees is of particular concern to large sales organizations. Geosoftware shows the current distribution according to various criteria (e.g. sales, customers and potential) and makes suggestions for better utilization of resources.
Customer and market analysis: where are our customers actually located? How are they distributed across the different regions? Have we already exhausted our potential in Region XY? These are all questions that sales managers can answer with geospatial software.
