Customer Edge Router (CE Router)

What is Customer Edge Router (CE Router)?
A customer edge router (CE router) is a common component of a multi-protocol label switching architecture (MPLS) that connects to a provider edge router (PE router) for communications from a customer site to take from a provider side. These types of routers are often located on the customer's premises.

The idea is that customer edge routers are part of an established network to achieve data transfer from the customer's offices to the provider's architecture, the one Cloud storage or another service. The customer's edge router connects to the provider's edge router, which is connected to a provider router that is part of the provider's network backbone. The client-edge router establishes a connection to the inside of the customer network.
