Compensation calculation

The compensation calculation adds costs to individual items to the extent that this is possible from the market. For competitive reasons, a company may be forced to offer certain offers at a low margin, or it may try to attract customers with an attractive price for individual items.

An attempt is then made to secure the total return through higher premiums on other items. This procedure is particularly common in retail and is also known as mixed calculation or imputed compensation.
