Comparative advertising

Comparative advertising is when a company uses advertising to contrast its products or services with those of the competition in such a way that the performance of the competitors is degraded. With very few exceptions, this type of advertising is illegal as it contradicts the law against unfair competition (UWG). Comparative advertising is permitted, for example, if facts need to be corrected or individual customer inquiries are answered.
