CloudStack

What is CloudStack?
CloudStack is an open source resource for implementing cloud services. CloudStack uses existing hypervisors to make cloud handling easier. Products like CloudStack are known as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions, which provide a particular infrastructure or method as a hosted service. CloudStack helps developers create multi-tenant, versatile cloud services and scale cloud projects.

CloudStack supports the use of multiple hypervisors and makes it easy to collect different pieces of hardware in a single virtual portal. With an easy-to-use web interface showing elements of this cloud-ready design, CloudStack is sometimes referred to as 'do-it-yourself' cloud software as it helps users customize cloud solutions.

CloudStack was once owned by Cloud.com, which released most of the program as freeware. CloudStack was later acquired by Citrix, which then donated CloudStack to the Apache Software Foundation.
