What is Cloud Foundry?
Cloud Foundry is an open source, platform-as-a-service cloud computing system. It enables developers to build and host cloud applications. Cloud Foundry is written in Ruby, Go, and Java. It is being developed by Pivotal Software, a joint venture with VMware, EMC, and General Electric. The project is regulated by the Cloud Foundry Foundation.

Cloud Foundry enables the provision of projects in various areas. For example, developers can use a development area to develop and test an application before moving a project to a production area that regular users have access to.

Cloud Foundry uses external services such as databases, messaging, development tools, and mobile tools. With the PaaS model, developers can access all of them without worrying about the details of the underlying system.
