The central administrative economy is an economic system that nationalizes and socializes production as well as services and trade. The economy should be planned by a centralized authority. In doing so, prices are determined that are based on the real costs of manufacturing the product.
Der Gegenbegriff für eine solche zentralstaatlich gesteuerte Ökonomie ist der Wirtschaftsliberalismus, der jeden regulierenden Eingriff in den Markt ablehnt und auf die sogenannte freien Kräfte des Marktes vertraut. In der sozialen Market economy hingegen wird der Markt durch ordnungspolitische Vorgaben geregelt (Beispiel: Kartellgesetze).
