Browser compatibility

What is browser compatibility?
Browser compatibility is the ability or flexibility of a website, web application, script, or HTML design to function on various web browsers available in the marketplace.
The benefit of creating a website with browser computability is that it improves the reach of a website and reduces degradation in performance. Browser compatibility can also be described as the potential of a web browser to efficiently display the HTML code and execute the scripts on web pages.

All web browsers must act as translators. These browsers translate the text written in HTML format and then display the content on a web page. Each browser has its own set of capabilities and mode of text translation, which are the main differences between browsers. While there is a standard set of rules for scripting HTML code, interpretation or translation contributes to most of the differences.

There are typically contrasts between different browser versions as the newer versions usually have the ability to decode new HTML scripts far better than the older ones. New browser versions offer a better display compared to older versions. Still, most of the online users assume that both the features and add-ons will create new versions and they download this with that fact in mind. Therefore, it is always advisable for website developers and designers to develop websites that support at least the last three browser versions.

Another element that affects browser compatibility, in addition to the browser differences, is whether the online surfer uses a normal PC and whether the operating system is Windows, Mac or Linux. Most of the time, the exact same browser can display the web pages a little differently than all of these platforms. Web developers should ensure that the website is compatible with any browser on all operating systems.

The variations can also occur as a result of differences in the screen sizes and resolutions of the various computers, which must also be taken into account in website development.
