What is automatic identification and data collection?
AIDC algorithms compare captured data with other files stored in a database. The digital comparison and identification process does not work 100 percent similarly due to certain factors (mainly noise).
AIDC is critical because it saves a lot of time entering digital data and translates its accuracy into reliability. For example, OCR technology achieved success rates in excess of 99 percent, which makes AIDC more reliable than data entry, which always involves the possibility of human error.
Other keyboard methods for digital data entry do not always work for image, video, or audio data, making AIDC the only data entry method for further digital processing.
RFID is the newest identification method among all automated technologies. It offers the digital computing system the ability to identify moving objects, which requires extremely high processing speeds.
