Amazon Whispernet is a 3G WiFi package bundled with Amazon Kindle. It is delivered to Kindle users for free by Amazon and is delivered through AT&T.
With Amazon Whispernet enabled on the Kindle device, Kindle users can connect to the Amazon website to purchase books, download content, etc. However, Kindle users must be in the coverage area of AT&T are located.
