Customer gateway

What is customer gateway?
In general, a customer gateway is a resource that is installed on the customer side of a service and is often linked to resources on the provider side. In a sense, a customer gateway is software that provides an interface for either customer users or customer data that is connected to a broader architecture.

Companies like Amazon and the US Postal Service offer their own types of customer gateways. Amazon defines the customer gateway as an 'anchor on the (customer) side of the connection', which can be either a physical or a software setup. Amazon compares this to a virtual private gateway on the Amazon setup site. In contrast, the US Postal Service's customer portal is more of a visual interface where customers can select services. A business customer gateway is a customer resource that enables the provider to better serve its customers.
