Cloud automation

What is cloud automation?
Cloud automation is a fundamental building block for the cloud computing paradigm.

Cloud automation is intended to reduce the complexity of cloud computing orchestration, that is, the provision of the various resources and modules in a cloud computing or virtualized environment.

This is mainly due to the number of tasks such as deploying individual virtual machines and setting them up, not to mention setting up and deploying other virtualized infrastructures such as server and storage clusters and virtual networks, and monitoring and managing the health of the entire system.

Automation tools that do all of this for the administrator ensure that the system works optimally and that all requirements relating to the provision and allocation of resources are met quickly and efficiently. With cloud automation, an entire fleet of uniform virtual machines can be set up in a few simple steps instead of setting them up individually.

This process is performed using virtual machine templates or even cloning, while the automation system does most of the setup and deployment. All the operator has to do is select a few options and check a few boxes and then wait for everything to finish. Automation software is either sold by third parties or is part of the chosen virtualization platform.
