What is C2 security?
C2 security is a type of security assessment that assesses the security framework for computer products used in government and military organizations and institutes. The standard was developed by the US Computer Security Center (NCSC) to create a minimum security benchmark for all computer products and applications that process sensitive government and military information.
C2 security is one of several levels of security for government and military computer products. It is primarily a C1 security improvement that offers controlled access protection through additional security functions in the login procedures. The audit trail of every user who logs on to the system must be saved and called up if necessary. In addition, C2 security also requires the contents of the memory to be protected, especially after a process has been released and when data on the hard disk is used and / or manipulated.
