Breidbart index

What is Breidbart Index?
The Breidbart index was developed by Seth Breidbart in the index for identifying spam in newsgroups. Users use the Breidbart index to find out which types of posts should be eliminated as spam messages.

The Breidbart Index has certain criteria. The booking sums are cumulative - the Breidbart Index examines how often a certain post is posted in another newsgroup or another venue. The Breidbart Index also weighs excessive multi-postings higher than excessive cross-postings. The index takes the total number of posts and expands them to a lower number. Any spam that is above 20 in the Breidbart Index is deemed to be terminable on site.

The Breidbart Index helps identify various types of messages that are bothersome and excessive for newsgroup users. For example, many types of pyramid scheme postings have exceeded the Breidbart index limit and are now automatically considered spam.
